AWS just dropped a Java v2 plugin for IAM Roles Anywhere that lets your off-AWS workloads grab temporary credentials straight inside the JVM, ditching the need for separate credential helpers. The plugin auto-handles session creation and credential refresh, supports RSA/EC/ML-DSA keys, and works everywhere AWS operates—including GovCloud, European Sovereign Cloud, and China regions.
