S3 Object Lock Gets Smarter with Event-Based Holds

Amazon S3 Object Lock now lets you set WORM protection that kicks in after a future event—like a contract closing or audit completion—instead of immediately. You can manage these event holds individually, set them as bucket defaults, or deploy them at scale with S3 Batch Operations, plus control who can modify them with new IAM condition keys. This feature rolls out to all AWS Regions, including China, with no extra cost.
