Amazon OpenSearch Service Extends Support Timeline for Older Versions
Amazon OpenSearch Service is giving you an extra 12 months to migrate from legacy Elasticsearch and OpenSearch versions, pushing the deadline to November 2027. Security patches will keep rolling out for versions 1.5-7.8 (Elasticsearch) and 1.0-2.9 (OpenSearch), though you'll pay an Extended Support surcharge equal to your instance pricing starting November 2026.
